Security Engineer

Location: Bellevue, Los Angeles, or Palo Alto, United States; expected to work in an office 4+ days per week

Base salary: $178,000–$313,000 annually, depending on pay zone, qualifications, experience, and work location; eligible for RSUs.

What you will do

• Design and implement logging and alerting systems for endpoints, infrastructure, networks, and cloud environments.
• Build threat-hunting tools and automation strategies for intrusion detection and incident response.
• Investigate alert-generated events, triage potential incidents, and drive response efforts with multiple teams.
• Develop scalable security services using AI-assisted engineering workflows while maintaining code quality, security, and production readiness.
• Analyze adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures across advanced persistent threats and cybercrime, and build related threat intelligence.

Requirements

• 6+ years of post-bachelor’s security experience, or equivalent advanced-degree experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in digital forensics, malware analysis, incident management, host or network intrusion detection, or threat intelligence.
• Strong development skills in Python and/or Go.
• Advanced operating-system knowledge and competency in at least two of macOS, Windows, Linux, Kubernetes, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform.
• Ability to use and critically audit AI tools for architecture, performance, and security risks.

Nice to have

• Experience with threat hunting and automated detection or incident-response logic.
• Knowledge of cloud services and infrastructure, including Google Cloud, Google Workspace, and AWS.
• Experience with a BeyondCorp model.
• Experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
