Senior Security Operations Analyst (Detection & Response)

Location: Remote within Point’s states of operation in the United States; candidates near the Palo Alto headquarters are preferred and may collaborate in person approximately once per week.

Annual base salary: $117,800–$130,200 for Tier 3, $127,300–$140,700 for Tier 2, or $151,050–$166,950 for Tier 1, depending on geographic location, skills, and experience.

What you will do

• Participate independently in the 24/7 on-call and incident-response rotation, investigating and containing security incidents.
• Build, tune, and maintain SIEM detections, correlation rules, dashboards, and reporting in Coralogix across cloud and identity log sources.
• Manage vulnerabilities by prioritizing findings, coordinating remediation, and reporting risk reduction across cloud and endpoints.
• Develop detection-as-code and lightweight SOAR automation to accelerate alert triage and response.
• Create incident-response runbooks, escalation paths, post-incident reviews, security metrics, and audit evidence.
• Improve threat monitoring and establish a modern detection and response practice from an early-stage foundation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in security operations, incident response, SOC, or detection engineering.
• Hands-on SIEM experience with detections, correlation rules, and dashboards using Coralogix, Splunk, Elastic, Microsoft Sentinel, or similar tools.
• Practical security experience with AWS and Google Workspace, including identity and logging sources.
• Experience investigating and containing phishing, AiTM, account takeover, business email compromise, and cloud or identity threats.
• Python or similar scripting experience for detection-as-code and SOAR-style workflows, plus vulnerability-management experience.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States, reside in one of Point’s states of operation, and participate in an off-hours on-call rotation.

Nice to have

• Hands-on use of AI or LLMs for security analysis, investigation, detection authoring, correlation, tuning, or automation.
• Experience in regulated financial services or fintech environments, including GLBA, NYDFS Part 500, or SOC 2.
• Relevant certifications such as GCIA, GCIH, GCED, GIAC, CySA+, Security+, or AWS Security Specialty.
• Experience establishing detection and response practices from an early-stage or greenfield environment.
