Software Developer, AI Engineering & SDLC Transformation (AI)

Location: 100% remote within Canada; current Canadian work authorization required. Toronto office listed.

Salary: $101,000–$118,000 CAD annual total cash compensation, including base salary and target performance bonus.

What you will do

• Identify and implement generative AI opportunities across the software development lifecycle with business, product, architecture, and engineering teams.
• Build AI-powered solutions, reusable agentic workflows, developer tools, and engineering foundations.
• Implement context retrieval, agent orchestration, tool integration, model evaluation, observability, guardrails, and secure execution.
• Enhance requirements gathering, solution design, architecture, development, traceability, testing, quality assurance, and defect analysis with AI.
• Evaluate AI models, agent frameworks, and developer tools, then pilot, refine, and scale AI-enabled engineering practices.
• Measure outcomes through engineering, quality, adoption, and developer experience metrics while contributing to architecture reviews and engineering standards.

Requirements

• Hands-on software engineering experience, particularly with Python.
• Experience delivering and supporting production APIs, services, and developer tools.
• Strong understanding of the full software development lifecycle and production software delivery.
• Experience with AWS, Snowflake, Kubernetes, microservices, containers, CI/CD, automated testing, Infrastructure as Code, and DevSecOps.
• Strong knowledge of generative AI and agentic AI engineering, including security, privacy, governance, and risk considerations.
• Current authorization to work in Canada is required. A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, or equivalent experience, plus 2+ years of software development experience, is required.

Nice to have

• Experience in financial services, mutual funds, or investment industry.
• Knowledge of Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, or other enterprise programming languages.
• Experience with open-source or open-weight code models, model evaluation, model serving, self-hosting, and AI coding or agentic development tools.
• AWS certification and experience with Agile or Scrum environments.
