Staff Software Engineer, Enterprise AI

What you will do

• Build and maintain orchestrator and specialist-agent architectures for retrieval, tool use, structured outputs, and multi-step reasoning.
• Design RAG and semantic-search retrieval with embeddings, reranking, evidence citations, and hallucination reduction techniques.
• Integrate AI agents with internal and external tools and APIs so they can perform actions, not only answer questions.
• Develop full-stack applications, APIs, and user interfaces for AI-powered search, chat, and workflow experiences.
• Instrument AI features for quality, safety, reliability, latency, token usage, and cost, then iterate on prompts and model selection.
• Maintain engineering quality through testing, code review, CI/CD, monitoring, security practices, and on-call ownership.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 8+ years of professional full-stack software development experience.
• End-to-end experience building RAG or agentic systems with retrieval, tool calling, structured outputs, multi-step reasoning, and evaluation loops.
• Experience evaluating nondeterministic systems and establishing AI observability for quality, safety, reliability, latency, token usage, and cost.
• Deep hands-on experience with Node, TypeScript, React, modern frameworks such as NextJS or NestJS, RESTful and GraphQL APIs, and relational and non-relational databases.
• Experience with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, security, and performance practices.

Nice to have

• Experience with embedding and reranking models, grounding, citations, vector databases, and agent platforms such as LangGraph, AutoGen, or CrewAI.
• Working familiarity with Python, Databricks, Unity Catalog, lakehouse, and data-catalog concepts.
• Experience shipping an internal AI product from scratch in a small, fast-moving team.
