Location: Hagerstown, Maryland, United States; onsite work across office, manufacturing, and outdoor environments. The role requires travel as needed and U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance.

Estimated starting salary: $85,768.30–$117,931.40 per year, plus performance-based annual incentive pay.

What you will do

  • Lead the industrial hygiene program, including identification, assessment, and control of chemical, physical, biological, and ergonomic hazards.
  • Oversee chemical, noise, respiratory, and radiation exposure monitoring and analyze trends to support prevention strategies.
  • Develop and manage respiratory protection, confined-space, fall-protection, heat-illness prevention, and medical-surveillance programs.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and applicable state and local regulations across multiple operating locations.
  • Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to HSE and operational teams.
  • Collaborate with technical, manufacturing, maintenance, and operational teams to improve safety culture and risk reduction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 7+ years of experience in industrial hygiene or HSE.
  • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification or the ability to obtain it within one year of hire.
  • Experience managing HSE or industrial hygiene programs, conducting surveys and exposure assessments, and leading teams.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations, with strong leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills.
  • U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance are required.
  • Ability to conduct inspections involving walking, climbing, and extended standing; regularly lift up to 25 pounds; and work in office, manufacturing, and outdoor settings.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in industrial hygiene, occupational health, environmental health, or a related field.
  • Experience with exposure monitoring and industrial hygiene surveys in aviation or manufacturing, including aircraft servicing, chemical handling, and maintenance.
  • Advanced knowledge of chemical, noise, respiratory, ergonomic, and radiation hazards.
  • Experience supporting compliance in controlled aviation environments involving airworthiness, production, and flight operations.
