Quality Inspector - 1st Shift (Manufacturing)

Location: Dodge Center, Minnesota, United States; onsite, 1st shift

Starting pay: $20.00–$26.52 per hour, based on experience

What you will do

• Inspect parts, assemblies, and finished products throughout the manufacturing process against engineering and quality specifications.
• Interpret assembly, mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic drawings and schematics; use calipers, thread gauges, go/no-go gauges, measuring tapes, and other inspection tools.
• Evaluate paint quality using surface-finish and thickness gauges and the A-B-C surface method.
• Inspect welds using weld gauges, liquid penetrant, and magnetic-particle methods.
• Verify functional testing, standard work, and production-tool calibration; identify and report nonconformance.
• Gather quality data, prepare reports, communicate updates to production, and perform basic root cause analysis on defects.

Requirements

• At least six months of applicable experience or an evaluated equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical procedures, safety rules, and maintenance instructions.
• Ability to use basic measuring and inspection tools.
• Ability to read basic weld symbols and inspect weld compliance.
• Ability to communicate quality information and follow routine procedures.

Nice to have

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
• Experience reading blueprints and using measuring tapes and check gauges.
