Software Engineer II (AkesoLIMS)

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and maintain features for the AkesoLIMS laboratory information management system.
• Build and support backend and frontend application functionality using ASP.NET, MVC, C#, JavaScript, and jQuery.
• Design, develop, and maintain REST APIs for integrations and application features.
• Design and optimize SQL Server database interactions and troubleshoot database issues.
• Partner with laboratory staff and project management to translate workflows, requirements, and priorities into software solutions.
• Troubleshoot defects, support production issues, improve system reliability and performance, and contribute to documentation and code reviews.

Requirements

• Strong experience with C#, ASP.NET, and MVC application development.
• Experience developing REST APIs with C#, Python, or Node.js.
• Strong SQL Server skills, including query and database-object optimization and troubleshooting.
• Frontend development experience with JavaScript and jQuery, with the ability to contribute across backend and frontend systems.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Claude.
• Ability to gather and refine requirements with laboratory staff and project management in a collaborative environment.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of laboratory workflows or experience with LIMS platforms.
• Experience with Python.
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform environments.
• Experience with additional AI tools for software development and prototyping.
