People Operations Business Partner (HR) - Contract

Location: Devens, Massachusetts, United States; on-site five days per week. Flexible hours may be required to support a growing 24x7 operation, including occasional nights, weekends, on-call work, or travel.

What you will do

• Provide first-line People support to employees and managers across manufacturing, engineering, and technical functions.
• Advise managers on routine employee relations matters, including attendance, performance, workplace behavior, policy interpretation, and interpersonal concerns.
• Support fact-finding, employee investigations, documentation, interviews, and follow-up actions under the guidance of Senior People Business Partners.
• Support workforce planning, talent discussions, organizational changes, engagement, retention, recognition, onboarding, transfers, promotions, and offboarding.
• Assist with leaves of absence, accommodations, return-to-work processes, performance management, compensation cycles, and engagement surveys.
• Maintain accurate HR records and ensure People programs and employee communications are implemented effectively across shifts and functions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2–5 years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably in manufacturing, engineering, technical, industrial, or fast-paced operational environments.
• Experience with or exposure to employee relations, performance management, attendance, workplace conduct, manager coaching, benefits, leave administration, or employee lifecycle processes.
• Strong discretion when handling confidential information, sound judgment, organization, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Experience supporting large employee populations, multiple business functions, or shift-based, hourly, exempt, and non-exempt employees.
• Must be able to work on-site five days per week and comply with U.S. Export Control Laws.

Nice to have

• PHR or SHRM-CP certification, or progress toward an HR certification.
• Experience in a manufacturing, engineering, R&D, startup, or rapidly scaling organization.
