Software Engineer 4 (Enterprise AI)

Location: Vancouver, Canada; hybrid with at least 3 days onsite per week

Salary: CAD $151,000–$227,000 annually, plus potential sign-on bonus, RSUs, discretionary awards, and benefits.

What you will do

• Architect, design, and develop scalable, containerized, fault-tolerant Kubernetes services for enterprise AI and LLM workloads.
• Build and operate high-performance inference and platform services with low latency and high throughput.
• Design distributed systems across compute, storage, networking, virtualization, and other infrastructure layers.
• Develop multi-tenant services for on-premises, hybrid, and cloud-based AI deployments.
• Implement observability, CI/CD, deployment automation, and reliability improvements.
• Build LLM serving capabilities including request routing, rate limiting, token streaming, load balancing, quota management, and usage budgeting.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience developing maintainable, resilient software products in a product development organization.
• Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, operating systems, networking, and distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native architectures.
• Production backend development experience with Go, Python, C++, or Rust, including CI/CD and release automation.
• Experience with datacenter architecture, distributed data stores, high-performance system software, multi-tenant services, and hybrid deployment environments.
• Experience diagnosing production issues with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or OpenTelemetry; a master's degree in computer science or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, GPU acceleration, vLLM, DeepSpeed, Hugging Face TGI, or Triton.
• Knowledge of retrieval-augmented generation, vector databases, AI orchestration frameworks, production LLM APIs, or agentic systems.
• Experience with SSE/WebSockets, prompt guardrails, open-source contributions, or large distributed codebases.
