Software Developer (Applied AI)

Location: Toronto office; 100% remote schedule. Current work authorization for Canada is required.

Total annual cash compensation: $101,000–$118,000 CAD, including base salary and target discretionary performance bonus.

What you will do

• Translate business and technology problems into AI use cases, technical requirements, prototypes, and production-ready applications.
• Build and extend reusable Applied AI foundations for model access, RAG, enterprise knowledge, agent orchestration, tool use, evaluation, observability, and deployment.
• Develop cloud-native AI components, APIs, and services using AWS, Snowflake, and Kubernetes.
• Apply agentic engineering practices, including prompt and context engineering, LLMs, tools, memory, workflow orchestration, guardrails, and observability.
• Embed security, privacy, risk controls, human oversight, traceability, monitoring, and governance into AI solutions.
• Support production AI services through automated testing, CI/CD, monitoring, root-cause analysis, performance optimization, and cost management.

Requirements

• Advanced Python skills for production-grade APIs, services, and applications.
• Experience building scalable cloud-native solutions with AWS, Snowflake, and Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in API development, microservices, containerization, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and automated testing.
• Understanding of machine learning, generative AI, agentic AI engineering, LLMs, RAG, agent orchestration, tool integration, and prompt/context engineering.
• Experience with AI evaluation, observability, monitoring, performance optimization, cost management, and MLOps/LLMOps.
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Economics, or Mathematics, or equivalent experience, plus 2+ years of software development experience.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Java or JavaScript.
• AWS certification or equivalent hands-on cloud experience.
• Experience in financial services, mutual funds, or investment; Agile or Scrum experience.
