Associate LLM Engineer

Location: Toronto, Canada; hybrid schedule with on-site work at clients or hirify.global offices three days per week and remote work two days per week

Salary: $75,000–$90,250 per year

What you will do

• Design and develop scalable, distributed software systems and lead architecture decisions.
• Translate business needs into technical requirements and own technical execution, code quality, deadlines, and resource allocation.
• Build and deploy LLM pipelines using RAG, vector databases, agentic workflows, and PEFT methods such as LoRA and QLoRA.
• Manage the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, coding, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
• Architect cloud and Databricks solutions, including governance from data through AI model output.
• Implement prompt and response guardrails, DevOps automation, continuous delivery, code reviews, and software design guidance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 1–5 years of software development experience, including relevant LLM application development.
• Strong Python and JavaScript skills, with experience in FastAPI, Django, and API development.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, Databricks, Unity Catalog, Terraform, and CloudFormation.
• Hands-on experience with LLM APIs and SDKs, including OpenAI, Anthropic, AWS Bedrock, LangChain, and DSPy.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, AWS services, scalable application design, security, privacy compliance, Git, DevOps, and Agile or Scrum.

Nice to have

• Front-end development experience with React, Next.js, and Tailwind CSS.
• Experience with production deployments serving thousands of users, including Redis and vector search.
• Experience with Azure DevOps.
