What you will do

• Verify test requisitions and patient identities before collection.
• Obtain blood specimens through venipuncture and finger sticks.
• Maintain specimen integrity using aseptic technique and applicable isolation procedures.
• Track collections, document draw details, and maintain quality-control records.
• Resolve unusual test orders with physicians, pathologists, nursing stations, and reference laboratories.
• Manage patient reports, triage billing questions, and schedule courier pickups through FedEx or Medspeed.

Requirements

• At least five years of phlebotomy experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy certificate if required by the state.
• Ability to follow hospital, professional, legal, federal, state, local, and JCAHO standards.
• Ability to work onsite in an office setting while wearing scrubs and tracking each blood draw.
• Completion of HIPAA/PHI privacy, general compliance, and security training within the first 30 days.
