What you will do

• Prepare samples and support specialists and engineers with mechanical and chemical laboratory testing.
• Perform routine tensile, hardness, corrosion, fastener, metallographic, and chemical tests according to procedures and specifications.
• Cut, mount, polish, and etch metallographic samples using laboratory equipment.
• Collect data, interpret routine pass/fail results, and complete reports, test records, and supporting documentation.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, calibrate, and perform routine upkeep on laboratory equipment and testing instruments.
• Manage chemical, consumable, and equipment inventories while collaborating with engineers, quality personnel, specialists, and technicians.

Requirements

• U.S. Persons Only: U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee status is required for access to ITAR-controlled information.
• High school diploma or GED required; an associate degree in a technical, scientific, engineering, or related field is preferred.
• 0–2 years of experience in testing, manufacturing, quality, or laboratory environments is preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude, basic technical, math, and computer skills, and the ability to follow laboratory procedures and engineering specifications.
• Ability to safely operate laboratory equipment and machinery, work in laboratory and light industrial environments, and lift up to 50 pounds frequently and 55 pounds occasionally.
• Willingness to work overtime when required; a valid driver's license is preferred.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices, laboratory quality systems, ISO requirements, and safety procedures.
• Associate degree in a technical, scientific, engineering, or related field.
• Valid driver's license.
