Senior Technical Project Manager (Embedded Hardware/Firmware)

Location: Hybrid in San Francisco, California, United States; travel up to 10% for team meetings and offsites.

Salary: $158,000–$206,000 annually

What you will do

• Plan, scope, estimate, schedule, and resource complex embedded hardware and firmware development projects.
• Own project plans from initiation through post-implementation and drive product launches from concept to production.
• Coordinate product management, engineering, quality, regulatory, manufacturing, marketing, clinical operations, and customer support.
• Maintain technical release plans and documentation for design controls, change requests, and design transfer.
• Lead Scrum ceremonies, project meetings, technical discussions, risk reviews, and project health tracking.
• Drive process improvements and participate in production release and health-monitoring activities.

Requirements

• BS degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of professional engineering experience and 4+ years leading development projects.
• Experience with embedded systems, highly technical product development teams, and design transfer processes.
• Strong project management, analytical, organizational, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Experience influencing matrixed teams without direct authority and managing project risks, priorities, and competing objectives.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Project and Visio; working knowledge of Jira and Confluence is beneficial.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree, MBA, or PMP certification.
• Medical device industry experience and familiarity with IEC 62304, IEC 14971, and IEC 62366.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, JAMA, AWS, Linux, Unix, or Windows environments.
