Data Platform Engineer (Fintech)

Location: London, hybrid; work from home is available on Mondays and Fridays, with in-office collaboration on other days.

What you will do

• Design and deliver pragmatic, scalable solutions for complex business and data platform challenges.
• Build and evolve foundations that enable fast, iterative analytics and rapid movement from idea to insight.
• Improve platform reliability, cost efficiency, security, and data accessibility.
• Work with product, analytics, and engineering teams to gather context, align stakeholders, and deliver outcomes.
• Take ownership of problem areas, manage multiple workstreams, and shape platform direction with autonomy.

Requirements

• Strong programming ability in Python or a similar language.
• Strong experience with Snowflake or comparable data warehouses.
• Experience building data-intensive systems and understanding software engineering patterns and architectures.
• Cloud experience, preferably AWS.
• Experience with infrastructure as code, ideally Terraform, and CI/CD best practices.
• Knowledge of modern data architectures such as Lambda and Kappa, plus strong problem-solving and communication skills.
