Data Engineer (AWS)

Location: Manchester, United Kingdom. Hybrid working requires attendance in the office or on a client site at least 2 days per week, with some assignments requiring up to 5 days per week on a client site.

What you will do

• Design and deploy production data pipelines from ingestion through consumption.
• Build ETL pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes on AWS.
• Process large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
• Integrate data from multiple sources through ingestion and curation functions.
• Extract data through APIs, write scripts and SQL queries, and support data movement.
• Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams using agile practices.

Requirements

• Experience designing and deploying production data pipelines within a big data architecture.
• Experience with Java, Python, Scala, Spark, and SQL.
• Experience processing structured and unstructured data from multiple sources.
• Experience using AWS native services or custom programming for data ingestion and curation.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and stakeholder collaboration skills.

Hiring process

• Initial call with a technology recruiter.
• Two 60-minute competency or technical interviews.
• Final 60-minute meeting with a PA leader, including a mini case study and discussion of client-centricity.
