Senior Manager, Data Engineering

Location: Toronto, Canada; hybrid schedule with in-office work required on Wednesdays and Thursdays

Salary: CAD 175,900–237,500 annually, plus variable compensation and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead and develop a team of software and data engineers through coaching, mentoring, and technical guidance.
• Build the next-generation data platform and integrate data across the product and business ecosystem.
• Lead system architecture design focused on reducing complexity, extensibility, and reusability.
• Improve engineering and agile practices while balancing delivery speed, quality, cost, and business impact.
• Lead project execution, delivery commitments, risk mitigation, and rapid feasibility prototyping.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver customer and internal business experiences.

Requirements

• Established experience building efficient, scalable data platforms and driving adoption across engineering, analytics, and ML teams.
• Experience managing engineering teams and data platforms as products.
• Expertise in production-grade, low-latency, high-performance services.
• Experience implementing end-to-end scalable cloud solutions.
• Strong written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders across business units.
• Experience with agile and program management methodologies, risk identification, and delivery in fast-paced environments.

Hiring process
