Group Financial Controller (Education)

Location: Manchester, hybrid with two days per week in the office

Salary: £80,000–£85,800 per year

What you will do

• Lead, manage, coach, and develop the Financial Control and FP&A teams.
• Oversee actuals reporting, balance sheet management, financial controls, risk management, VAT recovery, cash, and long-term invested funds.
• Lead the group external audit and prepare high-quality group statutory accounts.
• Manage medium-term financial plans, budgets, forecasts, business cases, and financial analysis.
• Lead the implementation of IFRS 15 and IFRS 16 and support subsidiary readiness for the 2027 audit.
• Integrate acquisitions into the group structure and build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across hirify.global.

Requirements

• Recognised professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
• Experience leading audit, statutory accounts, group reporting, budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial planning.
• Solid technical accounting experience, ideally including Charity SORP and FRS 102 in a complex organisation or group.
• Experience leading large teams, with strong leadership and people-management skills.
• Experience improving processes and establishing efficient, robust financial controls.
• Ability to influence and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and make impactful board-level recommendations.
