Financial Controller (Retail)

Location: Hybrid attendance at Head Office in Greater Manchester, United Kingdom; this is not a fully remote role.

What you will do

• Lead the Reporting and Transactional Finance teams, including management accounts, cash and banking, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Oversee month-end management reporting, statutory reporting, audits, and stakeholder reporting for investors and banks.
• Manage UK and overseas VAT returns, corporation tax matters, capital allowances, transfer pricing, and R&D-related tax activities.
• Lead group insurance policies and risk management, including FX risk management through hedging activities.
• Maintain cash-flow forecasting, liquidity management, balance sheet controls, and reconciliations.
• Manage capital expenditure budgeting and reporting, partner on investment decisions, and oversee IFRS 16 leases.

Requirements

• ACA or ACCA qualified.
• At least 3 years of post-qualification experience.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage finance teams.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of its practical implications.
• High attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and reliability.
• Ability to attend the Head Office in Greater Manchester in a hybrid capacity.
