TL;DR
Supplier Development Manager - Customer Services (Aerospace): Leading supplier development, audits, capability assessments, and performance improvement across Airbus Customer Services suppliers with an accent on quality, cost, delivery, and industrial risk mitigation. Focus on assessing supplier capacity and capability, implementing containment and corrective actions, and coordinating complex improvements across U.S. and European stakeholders.

Location: Herndon Area, Virginia, United States; on-site with more than 50% domestic and international travel to supplier facilities.

What you will do

  • Lead supplier development missions and projects to improve aftermarket supplier quality, cost, and delivery performance.
  • Coordinate and execute supplier capacity, capability, industrial maturity, recovery, approval, and surveillance assessments.
  • Identify industrial risks related to demand changes, long-term support, industrial changes, and organizational restructuring.
  • Define mitigation, containment, and corrective actions for supplier industrial issues and monitor short- and long-term improvement.
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain and Quality managers, supplier stakeholders, and hirify.global Customer Services teams in America and Europe.
  • Provide clear supplier performance information and support customer satisfaction through improved supplier reliability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a similar field; equivalent experience may substitute.
  • At least 8 years of professional experience in procurement operations, supplier monitoring, auditing, or supplier development.
  • Qualified Assessor/Auditor with experience in supply chain, supplier surveillance, performance improvement, and risk management.
  • Knowledge of EASA Part 21, Part 145, quality management systems, auditing, practical problem solving, and continuous improvement.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel by car and airplane.
  • Current authorization to work in the United States is required; visa sponsorship is not available for this U.S. position.
  • Fluent English required.

Nice to have

  • 10 or more years of relevant experience, particularly in aerospace or manufacturing.
  • Green Belt, Black Belt, or CPIM certification.
  • Knowledge of FHS, Satair, Upgrade, SSC, ASR/GRISS, or Services Side Letter operations.
