Data Warehouse & Analytics Architect

Location: Remote in the United States; role associated with Washington, DC

Salary: $180,000–$220,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead architecture and design reviews for scalable data warehouses, lakehouses, databases, and analytics applications.
• Design, deploy, and operate data infrastructure and analytics services across cloud environments.
• Create and maintain architectural documentation, including Architecture Decision Records, design documents, and technical specifications.
• Improve reliability, performance, security, technical health metrics, and technical debt across data storage, processing, and SRE systems.
• Provide technical direction, contribute code to critical components, conduct architecture-focused code reviews, and support end-to-end delivery.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with Engineering Managers, product management, UX, architects, and SRE teams on roadmaps and cross-team dependencies.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of experience in data warehousing, databases, data processing, or analytics.
• Strong knowledge of cloud data warehouses such as BigQuery, Redshift, Synapse, or Snowflake.
• Strong experience with lakehouse platforms, data modeling, columnar storage, and batch and stream processing architectures.
• Deep experience with SRE principles and practices, including reliability, automation, scalability, and observability.
• Experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and monitoring tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, or Grafana.
• Demonstrated architectural leadership, technical mentoring, cross-team influence, stakeholder management, and clear technical communication.

Nice to have

• Experience architecting Microsoft 365 add-ins with attention to security, performance, and user experience.
• Knowledge of data privacy, encryption, and zero-trust security models.
• Contributions to open-source projects or involvement in technical communities.
