Integration Technical Architect (AWS/AI)

Location: Deerfield, Illinois, United States; minimum 3 days per week onsite

Salary: $124,000–$170,000 annually, with potential discretionary bonuses.

What you will do

• Design and implement AWS architectures for integration workloads connecting clinical, supply chain, and enterprise systems.
• Develop API-first, event-driven, asynchronous messaging, and data synchronization patterns.
• Design hybrid integrations across cloud, on-premise, SaaS, and platform environments.
• Contribute to architecture standards, design patterns, technical documentation, and solution diagrams.
• Evaluate AWS services and support delivery teams through design reviews, technical guidance, and troubleshooting.
• Apply infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, healthcare compliance, and responsible AI practices.

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on AWS solution development and 5–8+ years of total software engineering or architecture experience.
• Knowledge of Lambda, API Gateway, ECS, Step Functions, DynamoDB, RDS, S3, SQS/SNS, EventBridge, VPC, security groups, PrivateLink, CloudWatch, and X-Ray.
• Experience with Terraform, CDK, or CloudFormation and understanding of the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
• Experience designing enterprise integrations, RESTful APIs, asynchronous messaging, data transformation, protocol mediation, and middleware or iPaaS platforms.
• Understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, agile delivery, technical documentation, and architecture diagrams.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, AWS Solutions Architect Associate certification, and strong communication skills.

Nice to have

• Healthcare, medical device, or other regulated-industry experience, including HIPAA, GxP, or FDA software validation.
• Awareness of HL7 and FHIR healthcare data standards.
• Experience with Docker, ECS, Kubernetes, data platforms, analytics pipelines, or TOGAF.
• Exposure to cloud AI/ML services, generative AI, large language models, agent orchestration frameworks, and multi-agent architectures.
• Experience working in global or multi-region environments.
