Freelance Project Manager (Localization, APAC)

Location: Remote from Vietnam or the South Asia region; availability for the South Asia time schedule required

What you will do

• Manage continuous product localization delivery across 20 supported languages for SaaS products.
• Coordinate string handoffs, Smartling workflows, release schedules, localization vendors, and LQA vendors.
• Monitor job progress, delivery SLAs, localization coverage, blockers, backlog triage, and prioritization.
• Improve localization workflows, identify bottlenecks, and implement process optimizations with vendor partners.
• Partner with product, design, engineering, client, and vendor stakeholders to resolve internationalization issues.
• Manage glossary updates, linguist onboarding, translator queries, and access to localization resources and tools.

Requirements

• 2–3 years of project management experience in the translation or localization industry.
• Proven knowledge of localization processes and tools, with Smartling experience required.
• Experience with machine translation, AI translation, CAT tools, terminology management software, and quality assurance tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, stakeholder management, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to manage multiple complex projects in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments with extensive language pools.
• Full-time availability and ability to work on the South Asia schedule required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Confluence, Jira, Trello, or similar project management tools.
