Fixed Income Trader - Rates

What you will do

• Execute fixed income rates orders, including G10 government bonds and cleared interest rate swaps, in line with regulations, internal policies, and risk controls.
• Provide investment teams with market commentary, daily feedback, and guidance on traded and open positions.
• Develop trading protocols and automated workflows, including opportunities to leverage AI.
• Build trusted relationships with portfolio managers, internal stakeholders, counterparties, and clients.
• Partner with Trading Research to analyse trading data and improve client outcomes.
• Collaborate with Global Markets colleagues, including traders in Hong Kong and Chicago, while expanding knowledge across other instruments.

Requirements

• Experience in financial markets, asset management, or trading, with the capability and ambition to develop as a Fixed Income Trader.
• Knowledge of government bond markets, particularly the UK market, and associated trading platforms.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including the ability to interpret complex data.
• Clear written and verbal communication, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to prioritise multiple assignments.
• Collaborative approach and confidence communicating with colleagues and stakeholders at different levels.
• Degree or equivalent practical experience, ideally in finance, economics, or another quantitative discipline.

Nice to have

• Progress toward IMC or CFA professional qualifications.
