EMEA Rates Trader

What you will do

• Execute portfolio decisions across EMEA rates, including government bonds and bills, interest rate swaps, swaptions, futures, inflation-linked securities and related options.
• Execute global FX and money-market transactions, including spot, forwards, NDFs, options, deposits, certificates of deposit, commercial paper, short-dated bonds and repo/reverse repo.
• Monitor market conditions, central bank activity, economic releases and positioning, providing market colour, trade ideas, liquidity assessments and implementation advice.
• Build relationships with banks, brokers, liquidity providers and venues to support pricing and reliable access to liquidity.
• Contribute to pre- and post-trade analysis and evaluate electronic, algorithmic, RFQ and voice execution channels.
• Improve trading systems, analytics, automation and controls while partnering with risk, compliance, operations, technology and other trading desks.

Requirements

• 5–7+ years of relevant trading experience within an asset manager, hedge fund, investment bank or treasury function.
• Solid understanding of pricing, liquidity, market microstructure, derivatives, and electronic and voice trading.
• Disciplined approach to execution quality and associated controls.
• Ability to draw relevant conclusions from market data and communicate them clearly across the investment team.
• Experience using order and execution management systems.
• Strong communication and relationship management skills, with confidence to challenge constructively.
• High standards of integrity, discretion and personal accountability.
