Housing Navigator

Location: El Cajon, California; must reside in San Diego County. Full-time in-office work is required Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with travel to other PCG offices and community events as needed.

Salary: $21.50–$25.50 per hour.

What you will do

• Support individuals and families experiencing homelessness or housing instability in identifying needs, addressing barriers, and securing safe housing.
• Help participants locate temporary, transitional, and permanent housing, complete rental applications, and communicate with landlords.
• Build relationships with landlords, property managers, housing providers, and community organizations to expand housing opportunities.
• Coordinate with case managers and service providers, assess barriers, and connect participants with community resources and financial assistance.
• Facilitate housing stability workshops, orientations, and individualized coaching sessions.
• Monitor housing placements, support housing retention, advocate for participants, and maintain accurate case documentation.

Requirements

• Associate degree or higher from an accredited U.S. college or university, or certified foreign-equivalency; significant related experience may substitute.
• Experience in customer service, sales, account management, case management, housing services, social services, or a related field.
• Ability to build rapport, communicate effectively, advocate for participants, and identify practical housing solutions.
• Knowledge of housing resources, affordable housing programs, landlord engagement, and community-based support services.
• Strong organization, problem-solving, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, data-entry systems, and web-based databases.

Nice to have

• Bilingual Spanish and/or Arabic skills.
