Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager

Location: Sussex, Wisconsin, USA; onsite at a new hirify.global Industrial Energy facility

What you will do

• Lead EHS programs covering hazard communication, compliance reporting, training, inspections, and recordkeeping.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, Wisconsin DNR, and other applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
• Build EHS programs, processes, and culture for a new greenfield facility with a hands-on, startup-oriented approach.
• Conduct audits, inspections, job safety analyses, and incident investigations; identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Manage hazardous waste, industrial hygiene, environmental monitoring, sustainability, and waste-reduction initiatives.
• Lead safety committees, support EHS team members, and partner with employees and leadership to improve site performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of progressive EHS experience.
• At least 3 years of experience implementing safety-related programs.
• Ability to work onsite in Sussex, Wisconsin, USA and regularly stand and walk within the facility.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds and perform bending, stooping, and reaching tasks.

Nice to have

• Experience in a manufacturing environment and with lean principles or continuous improvement.
• Strong knowledge of waste management regulations and environmental compliance.
• Professional certification such as CHMM, CSP, CIH, or PE.
• Experience with ERP and data management systems, including SAP.
• Experience with FTZ and security requirements and environmental reports such as Tier II, TRI, emissions, and hazardous waste reporting.
