Sr. Lead First Line Risk Management - Paze (Temporary) (Fintech)

Location: New York City, hybrid. Candidates must independently possess eligibility to work in the United States for any employer. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $154,000–$193,000 USD per year for New York, NY or San Francisco, CA. Other listed locations have different pay ranges.

What you will do

• Lead first-line risk programs, assessments, control strategies, and cross-functional initiatives involving complex or emerging risks.
• Identify risk and control challenges and recommend improvements to processes, products, services, and operating practices.
• Shape risk governance practices, methodologies, metrics, escalation approaches, dashboards, and reporting.
• Lead issue-management and remediation efforts, including root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and executive reporting.
• Advise senior business leaders on material risks, control tradeoffs, risk acceptance, remediation priorities, and change readiness.
• Represent first-line risk in audits, examinations, governance forums, and other major initiatives while coaching project teams and communities of practice.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, risk management, finance, technology, data, operations, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Typically 12 or more years of progressive experience, or an equivalent professional portfolio.
• Expert-level experience in first-line risk management or a related risk, controls, audit, compliance, technology, data, product, or operations discipline.
• Experience solving complex risk problems, contributing to functional strategy, leading cross-functional initiatives, and advising senior stakeholders.
• Eligibility to work in the United States for any employer at the date of hire is required.
• Background and drug screening are required.

Nice to have

• Experience in financial services, payments, fintech, or another highly regulated environment.
• Experience with governance, risk, and compliance technology, risk and control frameworks, testing, remediation, or reporting.
• Relevant risk management, audit, technology, security, data, product, or compliance certification.
• Experience developing risk metrics, dashboards, governance materials, procedures, testing approaches, or process improvements.
