What you will do

• Oversee daily used-car department operations, including sales, inventory management, pricing, and merchandising.
• Source, evaluate, and purchase pre-owned vehicles for dealership inventory.
• Inspect vehicles and assess condition, mileage, maintenance history, and resale value.
• Negotiate purchase prices with sellers to maximize profitability.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, inventory levels, turnover, and aging stock.
• Coordinate vehicle transportation, inspections, appraisals, and transfers.

Requirements

• Previous experience in automotive sales or purchasing management focused on pre-owned vehicles.
• Proficiency in automotive appraisal techniques and market valuation.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Ability to work onsite in Chicago, Illinois, United States.
