Head of Facilities, Corporate (Automotive)

Location: Based at corporate headquarters in Troy, Michigan, with regular travel of approximately 20–30% to satellite offices in Chicago, Phoenix, Louisville, and Los Angeles. Applicants must be permanently authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $156,560–$260,933 annual base pay, plus competitive benefits and potential equity and discretionary incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Lead day-to-day operations for corporate headquarters and satellite-office facilities, maintaining safe, clean, functional, and well-maintained workplaces.
• Oversee HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life-safety, security, preventive maintenance, permits, inspections, and building compliance.
• Plan future satellite and sales-office openings, including site selection support, space programming, lease coordination, buildouts, and commissioning.
• Manage construction, renovation, and tenant-improvement projects, coordinating architects, contractors, consultants, vendors, budgets, and timelines.
• Source and manage facilities service contracts and hold janitorial, security, landscaping, waste-management, and maintenance vendors accountable to service standards.
• Own operating and capital budgets, report forecasts and variances, identify efficiencies, and build and develop a geographically distributed facilities team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience with at least 10 years of related experience.
• Experience managing corporate office environments, preferably in automotive or a manufacturing-adjacent industry.
• Experience with facilities maintenance operations, maintenance planning, building systems, lease administration, vendor management, and compliance requirements.
• Proven success delivering capital and tenant-improvement projects on time and within budget.
• Experience managing geographically dispersed facilities portfolios, with strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Proficiency with facilities-management software such as CMMS or CAFM.

Nice to have

• CFM or FMP designation through IFMA.
• LEED accreditation or experience managing sustainable facilities programs.
• Experience supporting rapid real-estate expansion, new-office buildouts, centralized maintenance, or multi-site maintenance operations.
• Familiarity with automotive corporate environments or Tier 1 supplier organizations.
