TL;DR
Sustainability and Public Affairs Intern (ESG/Circular Economy): Supporting B Corp recertification, responsible business practices, ESG reporting, and public affairs initiatives with an accent on sustainability research, French and European regulatory analysis, and stakeholder engagement. Focus on analyzing legislation, mapping stakeholders, tracking circular-economy policy developments, and translating complex information into actionable documentation.

Location: Paris or Bordeaux, France; on-site role

Salary: €1,200–€1,400 per month, based on level of studies and candidate-specific factors.

What you will do

  • Support B Corp recertification through documentation, benchmarking research, and progress tracking.
  • Develop responsible business conduct practices, including sustainability databases, questionnaires, and implementation plans for suppliers and sellers.
  • Drive internal sustainability engagement through employee initiatives, events, communications, and philanthropy reporting.
  • Contribute to technology impact monitoring and ESG reporting.
  • Analyze French, UK, and EU legislation, parliamentary discussions, votes, and policy-making processes related to the circular economy.
  • Map stakeholders, help prepare position papers, participate in external meetings, and track regulatory developments affecting refurbished electronics.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Sustainability, Public Policy, Public Affairs, Environmental Studies, Law, Political Science, or a related field.
  • Ability to read and understand legislation and policy-making processes in France and Europe.
  • Strong analytical, research, synthesis, and organizational skills.
  • Fluent English and French, written and spoken.
  • Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets for database management and tracking.
  • Availability for a full-time, 35-hour-per-week, six-month internship starting in January 2027; a French school internship agreement is required.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of B Corp certification.
  • Familiarity with EU legislative processes.
  • Experience with data visualization tools.
