TL;DR
Tactical Communications Policy and Strategy Analyst (Tactical Communications/Network Architecture): Developing policies, guidance, strategies, architectures, and systems engineering for military communications and information network programs with an accent on tactical waveforms, joint concepts, and capability-gap solutions. Focus on aligning communications initiatives with acquisition, resourcing, governance, and senior leadership decision processes across air, ground, and maritime domains.
Location: Full-time onsite at the Mark Center in Alexandria, Virginia; hybrid and remote work are not permitted.
Full-time salary range: $143,100–$207,600 USD per year.

What you will do
- Analyze military and future-force communications and network portfolio strategies, policies, architectures, and operations across air, ground, and maritime domains.
- Support the development of joint concepts and integrated architecture solutions for validated warfighting capability gaps.
- Contribute to communications and information technology policy initiatives using the RRAB, Defense Acquisition System, PPBE, and related decision-making processes.
- Support communications initiatives involving Defense Support to Civilian Authorities, FirstNet, and enterprise Land Mobile Radio programs.
- Participate in governance working groups and capability boards, coordinate organizational positions, and prepare briefings for senior leadership.
Requirements
- Active TS/SCI security clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, mathematics, physics, or a related field; a non-related degree requires four additional years of experience.
- At least 10 years of experience developing Department of War issuances, strategies, and related documents.
- Experience as an Office of the Secretary of War, Joint Staff, or Service staff officer.
- Experience with tactical communications vendors and technologies, including SATURN, HQ, SINCGARS, HF, Link-16, BFT, WREN, or related waveforms and systems.
Nice to have
- Background in C3 operations, policy, or governance forums.
- Experience with RF waveforms, communications gateways, and network development or oversight.
- Experience conducting technical and programmatic research and preparing information and decision papers.
- Knowledge of Open Systems Architecture development and implementation.
