Software Developer - Confluent Cloud Platform (Go)

Location: Remote within Canada. Some travel may be required based on business demand.

Salary: CAD 80,000–129,000 per year.

What you will do

• Design, implement, test, and maintain features for the Confluent CLI and Terraform Provider, primarily in Go.
• Turn Confluent APIs into intuitive CLI commands and Terraform resources for production automation.
• Collaborate with service teams to deliver integrations and consistent experiences across both products.
• Write automated tests, participate in code reviews, and follow engineering and release practices.
• Investigate customer issues and improve reliability, performance, and usability.
• Contribute to shared frameworks, validation systems, tooling, and operational support.

Requirements

• Must be able to work in Canada without sponsorship.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience; a master's degree is preferred.
• 1–4 years of relevant software development experience.
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, software design, API development, REST APIs, versioning, and backward compatibility.
• Proficiency in Go, Java, Python, C++, or another modern programming language, with experience developing and maintaining production-quality software.
• Ability to learn quickly, collaborate effectively, and communicate clearly.

Nice to have

• Experience with Go, Terraform, Terraform Providers, command-line tools, or developer-facing APIs.
• Familiarity with the Terraform Plugin Framework or Terraform Plugin SDK.
• Open-source experience or familiarity with Apache Kafka, Confluent Cloud, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
