Senior Software Engineer II (Go/Kubernetes)

Location: Remote, anywhere in the United States. Some travel may be required based on business demand.

Salary: $131,000–$245,000 per year.

What you will do

• Build and evolve a unified deployment control plane for software rollout, upgrades, recovery, and lifecycle operations across large multi-cloud fleets.
• Develop fleet lifecycle orchestration for service placement, maintenance, state transitions, and recovery workflows.
• Design platform APIs and abstractions for deployment workflows, service lifecycle management, and fleet-wide operational controls.
• Integrate deployment systems with Confluent Cloud across AWS, GCP, and Azure.
• Implement multi-tenant isolation, security controls, and safe operational boundaries.
• Improve observability through monitoring, automated health checks, remediation workflows, and self-healing capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree; a master’s degree is preferred.
• 6+ years of experience delivering scalable software solutions.
• Deep Kubernetes expertise, including controller development, operator patterns, and multi-cluster architectures.
• Strong Go proficiency with experience building production-grade backend or platform services.
• Experience with fleet lifecycle management, deployment orchestration, or cloud infrastructure automation.
• Production cloud experience and strong knowledge of reliability, networking, security, project ownership, and cross-team collaboration.

Nice to have

• Experience with multi-tenant platform architectures and security isolation patterns.
• Familiarity with gRPC, Protobuf, and internal platform API design.
• Mentorship experience and a track record of technical leadership.
