Casual Technician in Construction (Wet Trades)

What you will do

• Provide technical assistance for teaching, learning, workshop activities, lecturers, and students.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment and comply with health and safety regulations.
• Prepare and update risk assessments, safe systems of work, COSHH records, and equipment maintenance records.
• Maintain, upgrade, service, and secure electrotechnical and construction machinery, equipment, materials, and stock.
• Manage stores inventory, order consumables, and provide equipment issue and return services.
• Participate in course team, student consultative, curriculum area, marketing, and programme promotion activities.

Requirements

• Minimum Level 2/3 qualification in construction trades or a relevant field.
• Recent and relevant technical industry experience.
• Appropriate health and safety training, or willingness to undertake it.
• Good communication, interpersonal, organisational, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and work flexibly with excellent punctuality.
• Welsh oracy and literacy at Level 0/1 are required.

Nice to have

• GCSE English and Mathematics at Grade C or equivalent.
• IOSH Managing Safely, PUWER, and First Aid qualifications.
• Understanding of technical support in Further Education.
• Competence in using and maintaining electrotechnical installation and construction machinery.
