Indirect Buyer (Automotive)

Location: Zeeland, Michigan, United States; on-site work required at a hirify.global facility. This role is not eligible for remote work.

What you will do

• Purchase goods, materials, and services that meet cost, quality, and delivery targets.
• Request and evaluate supplier quotations and perform should-cost, competitive-bid, and cost-breakdown analyses.
• Generate compliant purchase orders and manage purchasing documentation.
• Coordinate with suppliers and internal departments to mitigate supply risks and resolve operational issues.
• Monitor supplier performance, market trends, and supplier relationships.
• Identify new suppliers and implement cost reductions to achieve favorable purchase price variance targets.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 3–5 years of professional experience, including 1–3 years of purchasing experience.
• Fluent English required.
• Knowledge of purchasing systems and procedures, ERP systems, contract management, planning, and negotiations.
• Strong communication, influencing, interpersonal, time-management, and prioritization skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, handle emergencies, maintain confidentiality, and follow safety and company procedures.

Nice to have

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience with Oracle software.
• Commodity-specific purchasing experience, including labor or IT software.
• Automotive industry experience.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.
