TL;DR
Lead CNO Developer (Wireless Systems) (Cybersecurity): Designing and developing custom cyber tools and capabilities for embedded and telecommunications systems with an accent on reverse engineering, vulnerability research, firmware analysis, and wireless protocols. Focus on translating vulnerability research into operational codebases, analyzing complex Linux-based and embedded systems, and leading a small technical development team.

Location: Arlington, Virginia; full-time, in-office position. Active U.S. Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI access is required.

Salary range: $171,164–$256,746 USD annualized.

What you will do

  • Lead the technical direction, execution, tasking, and prioritization of a small CNO development team.
  • Design and develop custom tools and capabilities for embedded and telecommunications systems.
  • Transform vulnerability research proofs of concept into robust, maintainable operational codebases using DevOps practices.
  • Guide reverse engineering and vulnerability research across Linux-based and embedded systems, including firmware, operating system internals, wireless protocols, and software protections.
  • Direct tooling development for analyzing and manipulating software and firmware binaries.
  • Brief technical findings and capability demonstrations to project leadership, government stakeholders, and mission partners while mentoring junior and mid-level developers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline; equivalent practical experience may substitute.
  • 7+ years of experience designing, developing, and prototyping low-level applications or cyber capabilities.
  • Experience leading small technical teams, tasking and prioritizing work, and engaging directly with government stakeholders.
  • Experience with Python, C, C++, operating system internals, network socket programming, and packet-level understanding of IP and TCP.
  • Experience reverse engineering x86/ARM binaries or embedded systems and tracing code execution with WinDbg, GDB, or equivalent tools.
  • Active U.S. Top Secret security clearance and ability to obtain and maintain SCI access required.

Nice to have

  • Experience with firmware analysis, fuzzing, exploit development, wireless protocols, Wireshark, file system forensics, fault injection, Binary Ninja, or Ghidra.
  • Knowledge of memory protection mechanisms, memory management, and firmware or driver development.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, virtualized test ranges, and telecommunications systems; 5G experience is a plus.
  • Graduate degree in a related technical field.
