Associate Software Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: Pullman, Washington, United States; onsite at the SEL corporate office

Salary: $84,200–$124,500 annually

What you will do

• Conduct white-box and black-box testing of devices and software for security flaws and vulnerabilities.
• Identify security concerns and recommend improvements to cybersecurity posture.
• Participate in the design, implementation, and testing of firmware and software systems.
• Analyze hardware-software interactions and collaborate with hardware engineers.
• Prepare and maintain design and test documentation.
• Mentor associate engineers and technicians while staying current with vulnerabilities and mitigation processes.

Requirements

• US citizenship is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent field.
• Typically 2+ years of experience in object-oriented or embedded programming, network communications, or digital forensics and reverse engineering.
• Experience with one or more of C, C++, C#, or Python.
• Knowledge of network communications, including IS or ICS protocols.

Nice to have

• Industrial control systems, information security, cyber analysis and operations, or network security vulnerability assessment.
• Advanced network analysis, digital communications and signal processing, or three-phase electric power systems.
• Project management experience.
