Cloud Native Senior Architect (Portworx)

Location: Remote, United Kingdom; must already be based and eligible to work in the UK. Travel to customer sites across EMEA and company offices may be required for 30% or more of the time.

What you will do

• Support design and architecture workshops for Kubernetes, storage, backup, high availability, disaster recovery, networking, and security solutions.
• Design, install, configure, and maintain Kubernetes clusters and Portworx Enterprise, PX-Backup, PX-DR, and KubeVirt deployments.
• Operate customer environments across OpenShift, Rancher, VKS, on-premises infrastructure, and public cloud platforms.
• Lead API and microservices deployments, day-2 operations, monitoring, alerting, break/fix support, and issue resolution.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code workflows using tools such as Jenkins, GitOps, Terraform, Ansible, Chef, and Puppet.
• Deliver customer training, communicate project risks and outcomes, and contribute to reusable runbooks and delivery standards.

Requirements

• 10+ years of hands-on experience deploying and troubleshooting production Kubernetes environments.
• Strong experience with Kubernetes orchestration platforms, including OpenShift, Rancher, Mirantis, or equivalent technologies.
• Linux administration experience with RHEL, SLES, Debian, or Ubuntu, plus networking fundamentals covering TCP/IP, DNS, and load balancing.
• Knowledge of software-defined storage, backup, disaster recovery, object storage, and highly available data platforms.
• Experience with cloud IaaS platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, as well as CI/CD and Infrastructure-as-Code tooling.
• Must already be based in the UK and eligible to work there. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, a related field, or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• CKA or CKAD certification, or equivalent practical experience.
• Bash, Python, or Ruby scripting skills and experience with KVM, VMware, Git, or SVN.
• Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Kubernetes security, OpenStorage SDK, or HA database and data-processing platforms.
• Cloud or Portworx-related certifications.
