Engineer (Manufacturing Automation & Machine Vision)

What you will do

• Develop and continuously improve automated visual inspection and machine vision systems for capsule manufacturing.
• Build inspection-system user interfaces and application software, primarily with C# and related technologies.
• Develop image-processing and inspection functions to improve defect detection and inspection performance.
• Integrate inspection systems with manufacturing equipment, factory management systems, databases, and other data systems.
• Investigate abnormal inspection results, equipment and software issues, and performance degradation; identify root causes and implement countermeasures.
• Support equipment introduction, commissioning, validation, continuous improvement, documentation, and standardization in collaboration with production, maintenance, engineering, R&D, IT, and external suppliers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, computer science, information technology, electrical or electronic engineering, mechatronics, or a related technical field.
• At least 2 years of hands-on engineering or software development experience.
• Practical programming experience with C#, C++, C, or Python.
• Experience with machine vision, computer vision, image processing, automated visual inspection, industrial automation, manufacturing equipment, or software for manufacturing and inspection systems.
• Ability to communicate technically in Japanese in a manufacturing environment with production operators, maintenance technicians, engineers, and other local stakeholders.
• Experience with industrial cameras, image acquisition, lighting, lenses, PLCs, sensors, motion systems, SQL or SQL Server, and manufacturing data systems such as MES, SCADA, or Historian.

Nice to have

• Experience with C#, WPF, .NET, OpenCV, OCR, image analysis, image recognition, or inspection algorithms.
• Experience applying AI or machine learning to image recognition or anomaly detection.
• Experience working with external equipment suppliers and implementing new equipment.
• Experience in pharmaceutical, medical-device, food, or other regulated and high-quality manufacturing environments.
• Experience in a global or multinational organization and communication with global colleagues or technical partners in English.
