TL;DR
Project Finance Analyst (Clinical Research Finance): Supporting project financial management for clinical research programs through revenue reviews, forecasting, KPI reporting, reconciliations, and financial governance with an accent on project margins, contract leakage, backlog dynamics, and Order to Cash processes. Focus on validating financial data, improving reporting and controls, and partnering with project managers and Finance teams to resolve variances and strengthen decision-making.

What you will do
- Support variance analysis, revenue reviews, forecast reviews, billing and cash reviews, and project margin assessments.
- Maintain business-unit revenue forecasts, backlog reporting, burn-rate analysis, and KPI dashboards.
- Support commercial and financial governance, including pricing models, contractual requirements, project review schedules, and the Order to Cash process.
- Complete accurate month-end revenue activities, balance-sheet reporting, reconciliations, and third-party cost forecasting.
- Prepare routine and ad-hoc financial reporting, compliance checks, and financial training materials.
- Partner with Finance, project managers, and operational teams to improve processes, reporting, tools, and systems.
Requirements
- Experience in client finance, finance, accounting, or project financial support; clinical research experience is preferred.
- Understanding of project financial lifecycles, revenue recognition, and forecasting processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics, Marketing, Engineering, Sciences, or a related field, or equivalent project experience.
- Strong financial data analysis, reporting, problem-solving, organisation, and stakeholder communication skills.
- Confident use of Microsoft Excel, financial systems, and reporting tools.
- Fluent English required; role is based in the United Kingdom.
Nice to have
- Experience with Workday or Suite Project Pro.
- Exposure to operational or commercial finance environments.
- Knowledge of data modelling, process mapping, or financial modelling.
- Familiarity with regulated environments and project-based financial processes.
