Hardware Engineer

Location: Maia, Portugal; remote work option available, with worldwide travel required for international project execution.

What you will do

• Plan and design electrical systems for automation, machine safety, and conveyor technology.
• Supervise and coordinate engineering services in accordance with applicable standards and regulations.
• Support risk assessments, performance-level calculations, and customer documentation.
• Prepare supplier tender documents and provide technical support during installation at project sites.
• Monitor installation progress through customer acceptance and participate in project and construction meetings.
• Provide temporary technical leadership for hardware engineering subprojects during project execution.

Requirements

• Degree in automation engineering, electrical engineering, or a comparable field, or training as a technician or master craftsman.
• Professional experience in automation and knowledge of functional safety for machines and systems.
• Proficiency in applying machinery directives and relevant standards.
• Experience with Ethernet, PROFINET, and PROFIBUS bus systems.
• Experience with RUPLAN or EPLAN electrical design in sorting and distribution technology, including BHS or parcel systems.
• English language skills are required; willingness to travel worldwide is essential.
