TL;DR
Applications Engineer (Vacuum Automation): Supporting OEM and end-user customers with the integration and application of vacuum automation robots, wafer handling systems, loadports, motion controls, and software with an accent on pre-sales engineering, product demonstrations, and customer-specific solution design. Focus on debugging complex system issues, defining detailed product specifications, and guiding product integrations with sales, field service, product, and engineering teams.
Location: Remote - Germany; international travel, including the USA, required up to 50% of the time.

What you will do
- Provide pre-sales technical support for vacuum automation robots, wafer handling systems, loadports, motion controls, and related software.
- Work with sales to understand customer requirements and develop product use-case expertise.
- Guide product integrations at customer sites, demonstrate product features, support first-article sign-off, and handle product escalations.
- Debug complex technical issues with field service staff and provide systematic documentation.
- Prepare product specifications and define solutions for high-value customer applications.
- Communicate customer needs to product, marketing, and engineering teams and support demonstrations, trade shows, and seminars.
Requirements
- Technical ability to read drawings and understand electrical and mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of sensors, switches, relays, actuators, and system-level wiring diagrams.
- Experience in a customer-facing role and strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work systematically, document findings, collaborate effectively, and build relationships with different types of customers.
- Basic experience with scripting languages or programming.
- Ability to travel internationally, including to the USA, with up to 50% planned travel.

- Experience with 2D CAD or 3D CAD.
