Legal Counsel (Cryptoasset Regulation)

What you will do

• Advise on cryptoasset, e-money, and payment services regulatory requirements, including account-access obligations and operational compliance.
• Support UK licensing applications and registration workstreams by compiling materials and coordinating with outside counsel.
• Provide regulatory support for corporate transactions and structural changes affecting UK entities.
• Manage day-to-day regulatory relationships and correspondence for licensed entities.
• Translate UK Cryptoasset Regime, FCA, AML/CTF, operational resilience, outsourcing, e-money, and payment regulations into practical business guidance.
• Deliver clear, commercially accountable recommendations and risk trade-offs to non-lawyer stakeholders.

Requirements

• Qualified Solicitor or Barrister of England and Wales, or equivalent.
• At least 6 years of post-qualification experience in financial services regulatory law.
• Independent ownership of BAU regulatory workstreams and direct FCA regulator engagement, including notifications, information requests, and supervisory correspondence.
• Substantive experience with the UK Cryptoasset Regime, e-money and payment services regulation, account access, and open banking obligations.
• Experience with AML/CTF, outsourcing arrangements, and FCA/PRA operational resilience requirements.
• Must be a qualified lawyer in the UK and able to work remotely from the United Kingdom.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with the UK's onshored MiFID regime and its application to investment services, derivatives, equities, and tokenised financial instruments.
• Experience with change-of-control notifications and regulatory aspects of corporate transactions.
• Authentic interest in crypto and digital assets, including familiarity with hirify.global and competitor products.
