TL;DR
Finance Specialist (Financial Reporting and Controls): Supporting monthly closing, financial reporting, statutory compliance, and finance processes for a growing company in Spain with an accent on financial control, data integrity, and process standardization. Focus on coordinating external accounting providers, implementing automation and finance systems, and designing scalable controls across accounting, invoicing, payments, reporting, and procurement.
Location: Madrid, Spain; hybrid work with days at home and at ING MAD

What you will do
- Coordinate monthly closing activities with the external accounting provider and review accounting records and financial information.
- Prepare, analyze, and coordinate monthly financial and management reporting packages.
- Coordinate statutory reporting, tax compliance, external audit requirements, and intercompany invoicing.
- Design, document, and test finance processes and controls covering accounting, invoicing, payments, reporting, procurement, and fixed assets.
- Identify and implement automation, standardization, and efficiency improvements across finance operations.
- Participate in finance systems implementation, budgeting, forecasting, pricing, and other finance transformation initiatives.
Requirements
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
- At least 5–6 years of relevant experience.
- Understanding of Spanish accounting, tax, and reporting requirements and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Experience designing, documenting, and implementing finance processes and controls.
- Analytical, data-oriented, independent, proactive, and collaborative approach with strong attention to detail.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and fluent English.
