Director, Regulatory Compliance, UK & Europe (Payments)

What you will do

• Provide regulatory compliance oversight and expert advice across UK and European payments, e-money, safeguarding, and regulated financial services activities.
• Advise on new products, strategic initiatives, business change, market expansion, stablecoins, digital assets, and innovative payment solutions.
• Shape regulatory strategy, monitor regulatory developments, and support implementation of regulatory change.
• Lead engagement with regulators, supervisory authorities, auditors, and other external stakeholders.
• Oversee regulatory submissions, supervisory responses, examinations, audits, remediation activities, and governance reporting.
• Influence senior stakeholders and coordinate global, regional, and local teams to deliver practical and sustainable compliance outcomes.

Requirements

• Extensive regulatory compliance experience in payments, e-money, fintech, banking, or other regulated financial services environments.
• Strong knowledge of UK requirements for payment and electronic money institutions, with understanding of European regulatory frameworks.
• Experience advising on regulated products, payment services, strategic initiatives, and business transformation.
• Experience with payments, foreign exchange, stablecoins, digital assets, MiCA, or emerging payment initiatives.
• Experience managing regulatory examinations, supervisory reviews, audits, or remediation programmes across multiple jurisdictions.
• ICA, ACAMS, legal, or equivalent professional qualification, plus strong communication, relationship management, and prioritization skills.
