Automation Engineer BMS/EMS (Pharmaceutical Manufacturing)

hirify.global is developing modular, adaptable manufacturing facilities for vaccines and Specialty Care Biologics through the Modulus program.

What you will do

• Design, implement, operate, and manage the lifecycle of BMS and EMS automation systems.
• Manage automation project scope from design and specification through installation, commissioning, qualification, handover, and site start-up.
• Support automation of HVAC, black utilities, and associated facility systems, including FAT and SAT activities.
• Maintain system reliability, performance, maintainability, and operational efficiency through continuous improvement and automation upgrades.
• Manage vendors and contractors, review technical proposals, and support RFQs, tenders, technical evaluations, and vendor selection.
• Provide technical training and knowledge transfer to Operations and site personnel.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Automation, Control, Electrical, Electronic, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Typically 3–5 years of relevant automation experience, preferably in pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, vaccines, API, or another highly regulated manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience with Building Management Systems, preferably Schneider Electric platforms, and Environmental Monitoring Systems.
• Experience with greenfield or brownfield manufacturing projects and the start-up, commissioning, or operation of HVAC and black utility systems.
• Knowledge of PLCs, BMS, EMS, HMI, data historians, Modbus TCP/IP, BACnet IP, BACnet MSTP, IO-Link, and OPC UA.
• Understanding of cGMP, GAMP, Computer System Validation, data integrity, OT/IT integration, industrial cybersecurity, HVAC controls, cleanroom requirements, and pharmaceutical facility automation.

Nice to have

• Experience participating in FDA, EMA, or HSA inspections and audits.
• Knowledge of Singapore statutory and regulatory requirements and relevant process-industry codes of practice.
• Experience with ISA-88, ISA-95, vendor and subcontractor management, tender reviews, and technical/commercial bid evaluation.
