Manufacturing Equipment Engineer 1 (Biotech)

Location: Singapore — Woodlands — NorthTech. Full-time onsite role with normal or rotating 12-hour shifts, including day shifts from 08:00 to 20:15 and night shifts from 20:00 to 08:15.

What you will do

• Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, and reliability improvements on smart manufacturing equipment covering optical, mechanical, electrical, and fluidics systems.
• Support high-volume consumables production, daily production targets, shift KPIs, equipment uptime, and operational continuity.
• Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including 6S, automation of manual processes, maintenance process improvements, and work-instruction management.
• Investigate equipment incidents, coordinate investigation teams, prepare formal reports, and provide technical guidance to colleagues.
• Identify critical spare parts and update them in SAP to support continuous equipment operation.
• Guide and mentor Technicians, troubleshoot PLC and automation equipment, and develop on-the-job training programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering with 0–2 years of manufacturing or production experience; alternative diploma and technical qualification pathways are accepted with additional experience.
• Experience in a GMP-controlled manufacturing or production environment and compliance with cGMP, quality, safety, and work-instruction requirements.
• Advanced understanding of electrical, electronics, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
• Experience troubleshooting PLC systems such as Beckhoff or Allen Bradley.
• Ability to work onsite in Singapore, including normal or rotating 12-hour shifts when required.
• Ability to work in noisy and chemical environments with appropriate PPE, distinguish component and chemical colors, and safely handle loads up to 15 kg.
