Senior Software Engineer (Fullstack)

Location: Fully remote within Canada, with occasional in-person gatherings in Vancouver.

Compensation: CAD 98,000–147,000 per year.

What you will do

• Design, build, test, and ship features across the full stack, from databases to user interfaces.
• Debug and resolve issues across application systems.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering colleagues to scope and deliver work.
• Drive technical decisions, shape architecture, and scale infrastructure for hundreds of independent publishers.
• Work directly with the CTO on technical strategy.
• Review code, mentor engineers, and own products through the full development lifecycle.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional full-stack software engineering experience.
• Expertise in TypeScript, one or more frontend frameworks, and at least one additional programming language.
• Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, relational databases, and API design.
• Experience with application security practices, including secure coding, CSP, authentication, authorization, XSS, XSRF, and SQL injection prevention.
• Ability to write unit and integration tests and take ownership of production systems.
• Strong communication skills and confidence working in a distributed remote team.

Nice to have

• Experience in publishing, media, or subscription and membership platforms.
• Experience with Python, PHP, or Ruby.
• DevOps experience with Heroku, Google Cloud, AWS, or Cloudflare.
