Backend Developer (AI/Python): Building AI-focused backend services, agent workflow APIs, streaming systems, orchestration frameworks, and evaluation pipelines with an accent on distributed systems, retrieval, and production reliability. Focus on implementing tool calling, memory and state management, RAG pipelines, observability, and guardrails for safe, scalable AI agents.
Location: Fully remote within the EU-Other region

What you will do
- Build AI-focused backend services primarily in Python.
- Design APIs for agent workflows, including tool calling, memory and state management, and retrieval pipelines.
- Implement streaming backends with SSE and WebSockets alongside asynchronous, event-driven systems.
- Develop agent orchestration frameworks and evaluation pipelines.
- Improve production reliability through logging, tracing, observability, and guardrails.
- Own the AI platform layer while collaborating with the backend lead.
Requirements
- 7+ years of backend engineering experience.
- Strong Python and distributed systems experience.
- Experience with AWS or similar cloud infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience building with LLMs and AI agents.
- Experience with tool calling, orchestration, RAG, evaluation frameworks, vector databases, and retrieval pipelines.
- Experience operating production systems with strong observability and reliability practices.
